About Us
Our Mission
To nurture the radical imagination and collective action of BIPOC communities through education, storytelling, leadership development, and grassroots organizing.
Our Vision
We envision a liberated world where systems are co-created by those most impacted. A world where joy, justice, and self-determination are not exceptions but expectations.
Who We Are
Founded by Dr. Jeremy D. Williams and Dr. Lyric Flood, the Freedom Dreams Foundation is a collective of educators, artists, organizers, and visionaries committed to building new futures—starting now.
Our Work
Freedom Dreams Lab
Our flagship fellowship for BIPOC leaders who are designing liberatory learning environments and community-rooted initiatives. We coach, convene, and conspire alongside dreamers who are shifting what's possible in education and society.
Dream Free Productions
A creative studio space dedicated to storytelling that transforms. Dream Free is the home of our upcoming book Exodus, our documentary The Hidden Curriculum, and our co-founder podcast. Here, media becomes a tool for memory, imagination, and movement building.
Community Co-Conspiracy
Our work with communities—by communities. From grassroots organizing and public summits to workshops and healing gatherings, we partner with local leaders to build power and activate collective vision.
Education Imagination
A design and consulting arm that supports school creation, post-secondary innovation, and leadership development. We work with districts, foundations, and boards of directors to center equity, belonging, and freedom in every layer of the educational experience.
What We Believe
Liberation is not a metaphor
We believe freedom must be designed, protected, and lived—together. Our work moves beyond theoretical concepts to create tangible pathways toward liberation, ensuring that marginalized communities experience true autonomy and self-determination in their daily lives.
Storytelling is strategy
We tell the stories that shift culture, policy, and power. By amplifying BIPOC voices and narratives, we challenge dominant perspectives and create new possibilities for understanding our past, present, and future. Our stories become blueprints for the world we're building.
Leadership should look like us
We invest in BIPOC leaders to transform systems from the inside out—and the outside in. By prioritizing leadership development within our communities, we ensure that those most impacted by inequity are positioned to drive meaningful change across institutions and movements.
Education should awaken
We create learning environments that affirm identity, cultivate joy, and nurture collective purpose. Education isn't just about knowledge acquisition—it's about awakening consciousness, fostering critical thinking, and empowering learners to reimagine and reshape their worlds.
